“
'This book will NOT be what you expect. I had to start rereading after about 40 pages so that I could go back with a highlighter for the phrases, the sentences, the feelings....that just lept off no more than every couple of pages. Michelle is an amazing person. Her quiet heroic accomplishment of her goal despite many difficult obstacles (both physical and mental) establishes beyond a doubt that it is in 'the doing' as much or more so than it is in the 'having done'. I can't wait for her next book!!'

This book totally surprised me. Michelle is not only an amazing person, she is one hell of an author. Her well chosen words are picturesque.. Easy read but filled with strong emotions.

Your book was very informative and gave me such an appreciation for the reality of this situation, and the potential for change. I admire you incredibly for your passion, your courage and your fortitude in making this amazing cross-country journey on behalf of these companion animals.

Since I started reading your book, it is so interesting that I have a hard time stopping. I started with 20 pages, then I read 33 pages, the third evening I guess that I started a « Reading Marathon » with over 50 pages , followed by about 125 the next evening. Last night, I read close to 150 pages. I am almost through the whole book. This book is just incredible and so were you. I can barely believe your extra-ordinary exploit
Your book truly is an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story with the world! It deserves to be told. And deserves to be read.

BIO

Michelle Jameus is the author of the book ‘To Companion Friends, With Love’ (2015). It tells the inspiring story of her Cross Canada Marathon for unwanted pets. Once an amateur athlete, Michelle became a long distance runner and is the only woman to successfully run alone across Canada without a support vehicle.
In the early years, Michelle grew up with a fondness for adventure and sport. After High School, she served in the Canadian Armed Forces and later experimented with different career opportunities but was never satisfied.
Inspired by the loss of her two beloved dogs, she completed the Veterinary Assistance Program in 2003 and then ran a marathon of awareness for abandoned animals in 2007.
Michelle currently lives in Ottawa and is working on another book.
